The gothic castle was rebuilt in the renaissance style at the end of the 16th century.

Bratislava is a small historical city, but largest in Slovakia and a youngest european metropolis. Bratislava castle is the oldest surviving remnant, a basilica on the lawn facing Bratislava's Old Town, dates from the 9th century. The castle serves as museum and special events venue, notably as the site of the Bush-Putin summit in February 2005.

Lednice

Lednice is a village in South Moravia in the Czech Republic. In 1996 it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as "an exceptional example of the designed landscape that evolved in the Enlightenment and afterwards under the care of a single family." It contains an amazing palace and the largest park in the country, which covers 200 km². Please note the palace is closed during the winter season.
