Dachau is a town in the southern part of Germany. Be surprised and delighted by Dachau's historic domestic architecture, Dachau Palace (the summer residence of the Wittelsbach family) and its court garden, the Stadtpfarrkirche (parish church) of St. Jakob, Dachau's abundant museums and art galleries. The town is also known for its proximity to the infamous Dachau concentration camp built in 1933 by the Nazis, in which tens of thousands of prisoners died.
